Stained Edition – Custom Work Policy

1. Overview

At Stained Edition, each custom piece is designed and handcrafted to your specifications. Because of the time, materials, and skill required, custom orders follow a specific process and policy to ensure a smooth experience for both you and our studio.

2. Communication

All communication regarding your custom order will be via email unless otherwise agreed. Response time is typically within 2–3 business days. Please reply promptly to maintain your place in the production schedule.

3. Design Process

All custom requests begin with an inquiry form or direct email. Once we review your request, you will receive an estimated quote based on design complexity, size, materials, and timeline. A preliminary design sketch will be created after the deposit is received. You will have one round of revisions included. Additional revisions may be subject to additional design fees. Final approval is required before production begins.

4. Client Responsibility

You are responsible for providing accurate measurements, installation needs, and intended display location. Stained Edition is not responsible for remakes or adjustments due to inaccurate client-provided information. If client feedback, approvals, or payments are delayed, the delivery date may be extended without penalty to Stained Edition.

5. Payment Terms

Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin any custom work. Final Balance: The remaining 50% is due prior to delivery, shipping, or pickup. Payments can be made via Square.

6. Timeline & Delays

Estimated timelines vary depending on workload and complexity. Typical completion for most pieces is 4–8 weeks from deposit payment. Rush orders may be possible for an additional fee. Stained Edition is not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to supplier shortages, extreme weather, illness, or shipping carrier delays.

7. Materials & Colors

Every piece is handmade, and slight variations in glass texture, color, and pattern are part of the art. Glass colors may appear differently in various lighting conditions. If a specific type of glass is unavailable, a comparable substitution will be made with your approval.

8. Final Approval & Delivery

A photo of the completed piece will be sent for final approval before delivery/shipping. Once approved, no further changes can be made. Shipping costs are calculated separately and must be paid before shipment. Local pickup or event delivery may be arranged when available. Damage during transit must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photos.

9. Safety & Care

Stained glass pieces are for indoor display unless otherwise noted. Avoid placing pieces where they may be bumped, dropped, or exposed to extreme temperatures. Leaded glass should be handled with care and kept away from food prep areas.

10. Warranty & Repairs

Stained Edition guarantees craftsmanship for 30 days after delivery. This warranty does not cover damage from mishandling, improper display, or environmental exposure. Repairs after this period will be quoted separately.

11. File & Design Retention

Design sketches and project files are retained for 6 months after completion unless otherwise agreed.

12. Ownership & Usage Rights

Stained Edition retains the right to photograph all custom work for portfolio, marketing, and social media use. Highly personalized designs will not be reproduced for other clients without your permission.

By paying the deposit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Custom Work Policy.
